Fun with fortune cookies and job related fortunes

Posted by: Christina in Categories: fun stuff.

So, now that Jobyssey is up and running, its a question of getting the word out to the right people for us. We hate to do the same boring mindless stuff everyone’s seen a million times- who really needs another ballpoint pen? We’ve got a couple of fun ideas in mind, and the first one we’re planning on doing is customized fortune cookies. Fun, right? And tastier than most pens.

Looking for ideas for the messages, though, we came across a few sites that were too funny to go unblogged about:

Must have…!

As anyone that has a start up business will know, it is the time for belt tightening and penny pinching (not literally). It is most certainly NOT a time to spend vital “business” cash on a whim. I don’t care how cool those trainers are or how much you really really want that DVD. The DVD will not feed your starving family when the business goes under due to lack of funds.

Having said all this there are times when even a starving family is not enough of a deterrent. This is one of those times (and sites). I had to have the “don’t mention the war” one.

Swedetastic!!

Ok, so Be Kind Rewind is not the greatest film ever made - granted. However, like any good idea badly executed - it is still a good idea. This one in particular has spawned a whole subculture of “sweders” (”swedites?”). People dedicated to giving us their low (no) budget take on film classics. Cinematographic genius!

Warning: plays annoying, repetitive and loud music. About 2 minutes of sheer entertainment!

Soldering Fun!

So, after being inspired by this post on Cool Tools (you can buy it here), I had a look into the wonderful world of soldering information on the internet. Instructables will teach you how to solder, and then you can build an auto-whammy bar to attain Guitar Hero God status, or a robot, or turn your DVD burner into a high powered laser. Of course, if you’re interested in welding (soldering’s big brother), there are lots of cool projects out there, or, if you’ve been having ninja problems, you can slap together some throwing stars.
